Coast Guard JAG Opportunities

The Coast Guard has a continuing need for attorneys. To help meet this need, qualified 3Ls and alumni are encouraged to apply for Direct Commission Lawyer (DCL) positions for 2015.
 
Selected DCLs are commissioned as Lieutenants and sign a four-year active duty contract with the Coast Guard. DCLs will attend a five-week Direct Commission Officer Courst at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT, followed by a two-week Operations Orientation and ten-week Basic Lawyer Course at the Naval Justice Schol in Newport, RI. Judge advocates will then be assigned based on the needs of the service.
