The Honorable Karen D. Moore ‘91 will join us for a virtual presentation at noon on Tuesday, October 8 to discuss post-grad judicial clerkships in Snohomish County Superior Court. This program is open to all Seattle U Law students and recent grads.

Judge Moore was appointed to the Superior Court by Governor Jay Inslee in 2021. She graduated from the University of Idaho in 1986 with a double major in Finance and Information Systems and then earned a law degree from the University of Puget Sound (now Seattle University) in 1991, where she served in student government, including as Student Bar Association President.
During law school, Judge Moore completed an externship in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and practiced as a Rule 9 intern in the Pierce County Prosecutor’s office. Following graduation, Judge Moore served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Idaho Falls before moving back to Everett in 1995. She then worked for the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney in the Family Support, Appellate, and Criminal Divisions.
In 2001, Judge Moore left the prosecutor’s office for civil practice at Brewe Layman, practicing family, personal injury, and appellate law until her appointment to the bench.
In 2008, Judge Moore was awarded the David Kastle Pro Bono Attorney of the Year award by the Snohomish County Bar Association. She has served the community in many other ways through her volunteer participation on a number of local boards, including the Everett Rowing Association and Everett Family YMCA.
