2011 WOW Bar Prep Scholarship

WOMEN OF WSAJ BAR PREPARATION SCHOLARSHIP
EXAM DATES JULY 2011 / FEBRUARY 2012

The Mission of the Washington State Association for Justice (WSAJ) is to protect and promote a fair justice system and the right to trial by jury, and to ensure that any person who is harmed by the misconduct or negligence of others can obtain justice in America's courtrooms, even in actions against the most powerful interests.

In 1993 Women of WSTLA (WOW) section was established to encourage female members to participate in focused information exchange with female attorneys in the same legal specialty to further the mission of the WSAJ. The Women of WSAJ Section as it is now named is open to all members including law students and legal staff.

To support aspiring women plaintiff’s attorneys, WOW will provide women law school grads with scholarships to help defray the costs of bar review courses. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on financial need and demonstrated interest and intent to practice in the plaintiff’s bar.

Scholarship Criteria & Amount:
The amount and the number of scholarships will be determined by the WSAJ WOW Section Scholarship Committee and will vary in amount, up to the full tuition for the bar preparation course. Applicants must be female individuals and must take the Washington State bar exam in July 2011 or February 2012. All applicants will receive written notification from WSAJ of award or non-award by April 15, 2011.
