Upcoming Fall Events


Here are a few of the events we have on the horizon for fall quarter!
 
U.S. Navy JAG Info Session

Tuesday, September 20 at Noon, Room 309

Members of the Navy JAG Corps will be on campus for an information session and to conduct interviews for students applying to the Student Program.  All Student Program applicants must submit their application and complete a structured interview by September 30 to be considered for selection.  Following the information session, one-on-one informational interviews will be held in the afternoon.  To sign up for a one-on-one, please contact Junsen Ohno.  Find more detailed information about the Student Program here.

 

U.S. Army JAG Info Session

Thursday, September 22 at Noon, Room 328

Captain Brittany Faulkner will be on campus to share information about full-time active duty post-graduate opportunities.  All applicants will receive informational one-on-one interviews.  Apply under “2016 Fall OCI – U.S. Army JAG” in Symplicity.

Application deadline:  September 11 by 5:00pm.

 

Presidential Management Fellowship Program (PMF) Info Session

Wednesday, September 28 at Noon, Room 309

Join CPD for an informational session about the Presidential Management Fellowship Program and how to navigate the application process.  Being a PMF is one of the few ways to secure a position with a federal agency right out of law school.  Past PMF finalists have secured positions with incredible employers, including USAID, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Department of Commerce, and many more!

 

Women in the Law Panel

Thursday, September 29, Noon to 1:00 pm in Room C5

Please join CPD for a moderated panel discussion on Women in the Law.  Guest speakers are successful attorneys who will discuss their personal career trajectories and respective leadership paths, as well as topics including flexibility in career planning, networking, and the importance of mentors.  Please RSVP through Symplicity or email Junsen Ohno.

 

Alternative Careers Panel

Tuesday, October 4, Noon, Law School in Room C5

There are many exciting non-traditional careers available for JDs.  Join BELA, CPD, and the JD/MBA Student Association for a panel discussion of the opportunities available in a variety of fields.  The employment environment in Seattle is changing, and many exciting non-traditional career paths are open to JDs.  Please RSVP through Symplicity or email Junsen Ohno.

 

3L Job Search Strategies Seminar

Compliance Mgmt: Alternative Pathway to a Rewarding Legal Career

Thursday, October 13, Noon to 1:00 pm in Room C5

Please join CPD and Dorsey & Whitney Partner Nelson Dong for a panel on Compliance Management, which examines this emerging field as a career pathway for law school graduates.  Representatives from other companies will be joining Mr. Dong to discuss their careers in the compliance field, methods for finding compliance positions, and how to enhance your compliance "credentials."
