We invite you to participate in the 2018 Veterans’
Legal Career Fair! This year, we are
excited to share with you our NEW Location, NEW
Format and NEW Online Resources we
have added to this unique ONE DAY event!
Date: Friday,
September 21st, 2018
Where: Ritz
Carlton, Washington, D.C.
Once again, we will match employers seeking to hire exceptional, experienced legal professionals with lawyers who have served in the U.S. military, are transitioning out of military service, or are military spouses. Our goal is to help first-rate candidates who have received unique training, skills and legal insights through their military service connect with top employers.
In addition to attending and interviewing at the Veterans
Legal Career Fair, you will be able to search within the veteran legal
community year-round with our VLCF Online Job
Board. Veterans, active military and military spouses will now be
able to access participating employers active positions posted throughout the
year and connect directly.
We have a number of employers registered and continue to do so. We will alert you to new registrants, so look out for announcements and check back frequently to see who will be attending and bid on them for interview slots. There will be numerous opportunities to meet with employers at the networking reception/career fair as well. Many employers will be collecting resumes, so be prepared to bring hard copies along.
To learn more, register and bid (by August 20th), please
visit www.veteranslegalcareerfair.com.
For questions, please contact us at veteranslcf@orrick.com.
Orrick is proud to
partner with The American Legion; corporate founding sponsors Microsoft
Corporation, Morgan Stanley and ALM Media; and private practice sponsors

Vacating Records CLE
Vacating Records: A Primer for Beginners | Tuesday, July 31st | 12:00-1:30 pm
Volunteer Legal Services (VLS) is now seeking mentee attorneys for its Records Project. Brand new attorneys (or attorneys new to this area of law) are encouraged to take part in this mentorship program.
Criminal histories are a huge barrier for low-income King County residents seeking employment and housing. Mentee attorneys will represent clients in vacating their adult convictions to reduce these barriers and help increase their chances of being hired or securing stable housing. All cases/clients are pre-screened by staff attorneys and mentorship is available.
For attorneys interested in volunteering for the Records Project, we have an upcoming CLE specifically for vacating records that goes over the procedural and substantive law on Tuesday, July 31st, 12:00-1:30 pm. The presenter is Vitaliy Kertchen, a private attorney from Tacoma that almost exclusively handles these types of cases. VLS is offering the CLE both in person at KCBA (limited seating available) and via webcast.
More info can be found here. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Paige Hardy directly.
