Disability and Ableism in the Legal Profession

A panel of legal practitioners will discuss the experience of disability and ableism through a variety of lenses.  Panelists will share their personal experiences of entering and excelling in the legal profession. This program is for everyone who cares about achieving equity in the legal profession.

The WSBA Diversity Program's Beyond the Dialogue is a series addressing bias, intersectional identities, and the impact of larger societal issues within the legal profession. Beyond the Dialogue is designed to support the effective practice of law by increasing cultural awareness and competency.

The series brings together WSBA members to highlight and examine current, important issues in the legal profession. Speakers share professional and personal stories of challenge and triumph with the goal of reducing bias, connecting broader social issues to the work of legal professionals, increasing interpersonal skills, and supporting professional development.

Presented by Washington Attorneys with Disabilities Association in partnership with WSBA Diversity Programs, sponsored by Davis Wright Tremaine
