On-Campus Housing Opportunities for Law Students

ON-CAMPUS HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR LAW STUDENTS

Please read the below message from Housing & Residence Life about on-campus housing options for law students.

As you prepare for the upcoming academic year, Housing & Residence Life invites you to consider some affordable and convenient on-campus housing opportunities for law students.

Murphy Apartments:

We have limited availability in the Murphy Apartments, primarily in single studio units. These spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Here are some details about the Murphy Studios:

  • Price: The semester price for a studio is $7,866 (approximately $1,960 per month).
  • Features: Each 310 sq. ft. studio is designed for single occupancy and includes a kitchen, furniture, utilities, and internet.

For more information about the Murphy Apartments, please visit our Murphy Apartments page.

Residence Hall Singles:

In addition to the Murphy Apartments, we have limited single rooms available in the residence halls (Bellarmine, Campion, and Xavier). These rooms, which are located in our three traditional residential communities, are on higher floors with great views and will also be offered on a space-available basis. For those interested in an apartment, accepting a single room in a residence hall will ensure you have a place to live while remaining on the waitlist for the Murphy Apartments.

Additional Information about Residence Hall Singles:

  • Price: The semester price for a single room is $6,577 (approximately $1,315 per month).
  • Furniture: Each room has one bed, a desk, and two wardrobes. The modular furniture can be rearranged to suit your comfort.
  • Our traditional halls have small community kitchens on each floor. Optional meal plans are also available for campus dining.
  • Single residence hall rooms do not have private bathrooms. Bathrooms are shared by all residents on the floor.

How to Apply for On-Campus Housing:

If you are interested in living in the Murphy Apartments or a single residence hall room, please follow these steps to apply for housing:

  1. Email Tyler Murphy, Assistant Director of Housing Services, at tmurphy1@seattleu.edu, indicating your preference (a Murphy single studio or a residence hall single). We will also ensure you are active in the Housing Portal.
  1. Log in to the Housing Portal: You will need your SU email account, SU ID, and SU email account password.
  1. To access the Housing Application, click “Complete a Housing Plan” on the right side of the screen after logging in.
  1. Complete the Application: Apply for the 2025-2026 academic year.
  1. If you have any issues accessing the portal after you are set up, please contact the Housing Office at housing@seattleu.edu or 206-296-6305.

Space on-campus is limited, so we recommend reaching out soon to secure your space.

Winter Break Housing:

Please note that winter break is not included in the semester housing charge.  Students can stay in residence over winter break (December 16 – January 3) for an additional $300 fee. Students who are not staying for winter break are welcome to leave their belongings in their rooms until they return for Spring Semester.

Vi Hilbert Hall Apartments and The Douglas Apartments:
We also want to highlight two fantastic housing options available to upper-division and graduate students: Vi Hilbert Hall Apartments and The Douglas Apartments. Both partner communities offer priority consideration for Seattle U students, and we encourage you to explore these options if you have not already done so.
