Current 2Ls are encouraged to apply for 2011-2012 membership in the William L. Dwyer Inn of Court.
Resume and a letter of interest detailing why you would like to join the Inn are required. There are seven spots available for Seattle University law students and applications will be reviewed by Professor Deborah Ahrens and Erin Fullner.
Selection criteria include a demonstrated interest in litigation and dispute resolution, participation in activities supporting that interest, and a thoughtful and compelling cover letter. Applications are due Wednesday, April 27 by 4 p.m. Materials can be submitted to Lisa Van Wey in the Dean’s Office (Room 210) or electronically at vanweye@seattleu.edu.
The membership commitment consists of nine evening monthly meetings the second Tuesday of each month September-May. The membership dues for 2011-2012 are $100, which covers the cost of all meals.
Inn of Court serves as an educational and mentoring organization to law students who are dedicated to perpetuating high-quality, ethical lawyering. The general membership is made up of judges, attorneys with varying practice experience, and law students in their third year. The William L. Dwyer Inn of Court is part of the American Inns of Court, a national organization which is comprised of more than 300 chapters with 23,000+ members.
