Please join Washington Sea Grant Director Penny Dalton; WSG Education Specialist Nancy Reichley; and WSG Science Writer David Gordon for a presentation about fellowships offered by Sea Grant. Currently or soon-to-be open fellowships include:
- 2013 Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship: This fellowship provides eligible graduate students a one-year work experience on the staff of the U.S. Congress or with a Federal agency dealing with marine issues.
- 2012 Coastal Management Fellowship: This two-year opportunity matches postgraduate students with state coastal zone programs to work on projects proposed by each state and selected by NOAA’s Coastal Services Center.
- 2012 Sea Grant/NOAA Fisheries Fellowships in Population Dynamics and Marine Resource Economics: This program offers two- and three-year research opportunities to Ph.D. candidates interested in either population dynamics and stock assessment or in marine resource economics.
- 2012 WSG Science Writing Fellowship: WSG Science Writing Fellows assist in the development of a variety of communication products about Sea Grant projects and issues in marine-related research, education, and outreach; upper division undergraduates and graduate students are eligible to apply.
- 2012 Marc Hershman Marine Policy Fellowship: This program places two to four graduate students or recent graduates for one year with state agencies in Olympia or Tacoma, WA, working on ocean and coastal science and management issues.
