Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys Kristin Miles Memorial Student Scholarship

The Kristin Miles Memorial Student Scholarship honors Kristin’s commitment to ensuring that law students have the opportunity to participate in Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys (WSSHA) programs. She was ever vigilant in reminding the Board of its obligations to advance the education of future members by making programs accessible to the law student community. While Kristin’s passion, dedication, and always present good humor cannot be replaced, WSSHA seeks to honor her by providing this support to law students each year.

The scholarship provides:
  • All seminar fees to the WSSHA Annual Hospital & Health Law Mid-Year Seminar, November 1-2, 2019 in Vancouver, B.C.
  • One night lodging at the conference hotel, the Pan Pacific
  • $50/per diem for a maximum of two days
Eligibility:

Any second- or third-year J.D. student, as well as any LL.M. student, enrolled in a law school located in the state of Washington, including previous applicants not selected who are encouraged to re-apply.
WSSHA will select one winner from each law school located in the state of Washington.

Email a résumé and brief statement (1 page or less) about why you are interested in healthcare law to Deanna Bui at deanna@favros.com. Applications are due Monday, October 7, 2019.

Please note: The conference room rate at the Pan Pacific Hotel is available only until October 1st or until the reserved rooms have been taken. The winner of the Kristin Miles Memorial Student Scholarship will not be selected until after October 2nd, so students planning to attend the seminar are encouraged to reserve rooms before October 1st. Room reservations may be cancelled up to 24
hours prior to arrival.
Kristin Miles was a member of the WSSHA
Board of Directors from 2006 until her death in 2012.
