2012 Laurel Rubin Farmworker Justice Internship
Columbia Legal Services seeks up to three farm worker justice interns who will work on farm worker advocacy cases and projects in one of the following offices: Olympia, Wenatchee, and Yakima. All applicants must have the ability to communicate effectively in verbal Spanish. The Laurel Rubin Farmworker Justice Project funds successful applicants at $5,500 for the 10-12 week internship.
The Laurel Rubin Farm Worker Justice interns will support the advocacy of the CLS Working Families Project as it relates to farm workers including community and economic development, legislation and litigation. Working as part of a statewide outreach team, the interns will participate in efforts to educate farm workers about their basic employment rights and other relevant topics through visits to farmworker housing, presentations and meetings with community groups, and radio advocacy. The interns will also do legal research, prepare written memoranda, and assist in case planning for litigation or administrative actions on behalf of low-wage workers. Every effort will be made to provide interns with the opportunity to work on an advocacy project on behalf of an individual worker or family and therefore the intern will likely have some opportunity to work on client interviewing skills.

LGBT Bar Association/Prudential Financial 2012 1L Summer Internship Program
The National LGBT Bar Association is pleased to partner with Prudential Financial, Inc. (Prudential) to provide a meaningful summer internship opportunity to a highly-motivated first-year law student. Through this partnership, the National LGBT Bar Association will select a student to join the 2012 summer law intern class at Prudential for a 10-week internship at Prudential’s offices with a stipend of approximately $10,000. Internship positions will be located in the New Jersey tri-state area. A position may be available in Dallas, Texas.

Winston & Strawn 2012 Diversity Scholarship Program

NCPL Fellowship
Applications are being accepted for the National Center on Philanthropy and the Law Fellowship. The NCPL Fellowship permits one Fellow each year to spend one year in residence at the New York University Office of the General Counsel, working with the General Counsel of
NYU and the staff of seventeen attorneys on legal issues facing the University.
The NCPL Fellow will delve into an unusually wide variety of legal and organizational issues
and will participate in the legal work conducted by the Office of the General Counsel, including conducting factual and legal research, drafting litigation papers, transactional and policy documents, and correspondence, and participating in the lawyering enterprises of the University.

Rockefeller Brothers Fund Fellowship
Applications are now being accepted for the Rockefeller Brothers Fund Fellowship. The Fellowship, which is funded by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, permits one Fellow each year to spend one year in residence at the Vera Institute of Justice in New York City, working closely with the General Counsel to Vera and her staff on legal issues faced by Vera. In addition, the Fellow will be deployed to Vera’s various projects and programs to address the legal, business, and organizational issues confronted by these projects and programs.

The EPA Region IX (San Francisco) and Region 1 (New England) are now accepting applications for their 2012 Honors Attorney Fellowship.
The EPA Honors Attorney Fellowship is designed for a recent law school graduate with excellent academic credentials and a strong interest in a career in environmental law or the public sector. It provides an opportunity for entry-level attorneys to practice law in a leading governmental environmental organization, and to receive extensive training in and exposure to environmental law and policy work in the public sector. The Region offers new attorneys significant responsibility, the opportunity to handle a complex caseload that includes enforcement and counseling work, and extensive training and mentoring from dedicated colleagues with recognized expertise. The Region offers a diverse and supportive work environment.

U.S. Office of Government Ethics Honors Attorney Position
As part of its commitment to succession planning within the Executive Branch ethics community, The United States Office of Government Ethics is establishing an Honors Attorney position. This position, open to recent law school graduates from the classes of 2009 and 2010, is a three year term limited term appointment with promotion potential to GS-12. If you have not been admitted to the bar, you will initially be appointed as a law clerk. Once admitted, you will then become a Honors Attorney. OGE anticipates this position will allow an exceptional student an entry level position in the Executive Branch and prepare the individual for transition into the Federal legal and ethics community.
The attorney will work in three primary areas for a three year period: 1) as a member of OGE’s legislative team tracking legislation, writing advisories, and participating in meetings with stakeholders in the Executive and Legislative branches; 2) conducting legal research and writing and program management of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Privacy Act of 1974; and, 3) the criminal conflicts of interest statutes and the Standards of Conduct by performing special projects assigned by the General Counsel and the presidentially appointed Director of the agency.

The Dell Thurmond Woodard Fellowship
The Dell Thurmond Woodard Fellowship, which includes one $5,000 grant for one student each year, is part of the Tisdale Fellowship program, a summer internship available to undergraduate and graduate students. Any student, undergraduate or graduate, who is interested in diversity and ethics issues, and in learning about high-tech public policy issues, can apply for this Fellowship.
The Dell Thurmond Woodard Fellowship was created in memory of the late Thurmond Woodard, Dell’s former Vice President of Global Diversity and Chief Ethics, Privacy and Compliance Officer. Those interested should use the Eben Tisdale Fellowship Application, found at www.tisdalefellowship.org, and follow the instructions for submitting an additional essay on ethics and diversity.
